International Summer School of Scotland

The exclusive International Summer School of Scotland (ISSOS) summer program offers high school students from all over the world (aged 13-18) the unique opportunity to combine learning, creative enrichment and action-packed adventure in the amazing, historic and picturesque UK university town of St Andrews.

ISSOS offers a three week summer school program and limits the number of students from one nationality to 10% in order to guarantee a truly international experience. The school was founded to provide a well balanced, supervised summer program to international students and expose them to the UK as a place to travel and study. ISSOS prides itself on offering students a safe summer experience while at the same time providing them the freedom to grow.

Set in the beautiful and historic town of St Andrews, that boasts three beaches, the home of golf and the top university in Scotland, the school provides a unique environment for our students’ international summer experience

The town of St Andrews is packed with history, tradition and culture and the golden beaches of this idyllic coastal location provide not only a unique and breathtaking backdrop but also a stimulating, exciting and, above all, safe environment for students to spend their summer.

ISSOS is a truly unique summer school, we offer high quality academic and elective programs, some of which are exclusive to ISSOS. However what sets ISSOS apart from any other summer program is that it was set up with one goal "to help young people" - help them grow and develop and help them find their passion. We assist all our students to find out what they are passionate about and we encourage them to follow that passion. Quite simply we care and every year parents come back to us to tell us that the service and care that their son/daughter were given while at ISSOS was exceptional.

Our Staff

At ISSOS we take pride in using only highly qualified and motivated staff. All our teachers have been carefully selected from academic institutions around the world for their qualifications, expertise and experience and bring with them an energy and enthusiasm for teaching and interacting with young people, within both our academic and extra-curricular programmes. There is a staff student ratio of 1:5 and classes are intentionally kept small in order to provide individual attention and personalised instruction.

As well as providing high quality academic standards for our summer students, our teachers are also dormitory residents and are backed up by counselors who act as role models and provide pastoral care. The success of our summer programmes rests on the dedication and enthusiasm of our teachers and counselors and their common goal of making ISSOS a truly unique and exciting experience for every student.
